I joined the Research Division in 2018 to work on a project analyzing Graduate Admissions departments’ integration of diversity goals within their programs. I managed 3 large data collections, with a sample of over 1,400 students and over 140 admissions faculty and staff members; I subsequently assumed the role of Principal Investigator. I directed research projects, including data analysis, survey development and fielding, and interviewing activities (e.g., graduate admissions staff and faculty), and managed collection of research projects with a combined budget of $1M.

I was promoted to manage data analysis/data projection, survey development, interview protocol development, and research report writing for a key project on the topic of degree attainment for underrepresented minority groups. I revitalized a stagnated report draft and worked closely with the SVP to analyze degree attainment trends of race/ethnic and gender groups. I applied projection methodology to census data to produce peer-reviewed projections, and created slide decks in the SVP’s "voice" for large presentations with diverse audiences.

I was hired to assist in data collection and project management for a large multi-state, multi-site program evaluation of a professional development initiative for math teachers (comprised of a large network of high schools and higher education institutions in the state of Tennessee). I conducted site visits to multiple locations in Tennessee to conduct interviews and oversee data collection. I managed and mentored the research team.

• I handled over-the-phone recruitment and interviewing for survey participants, along with data/sample management tasks, for an independent Policy Research/consulting firm that conducts large-scale survey research and program evaluations on a range of topics including labor, education, and healthcare. Key highlights:❖Given a specialized role as a “refusal converter,” representing a special assignment to call on people who had refused to complete a survey multiple times.❖Exceeded the target response rate for a special project with hard-to-reach samples (large teacher evaluation study for the Dept. of Education) based on reputation as a strong interviewer.
