I am a Partner within firm’s Corporate Team specialising in company and corporate law.I regularly undertake a variety of work including large M&A acquisitions, disposals, mergers, joint ventures, MBOs and group reorganisations/restructures for a variety of Clients including a local client base of SMEs. During my training contract I spent time in the following departments:-Corporate CommercialI completed a seat within the corporate and commercial team during which I dealt with and provided support on a wide range of legal issues for our business clients. This included a variety of corporate issues including mergers, sales and acquisitions; providing company advice; drafting commercial contracts; and dealing with day to day commercial enquiries.Employment and LitigationI also completed a seat working within the firm's Employment and Litigation department. This involved running and managing a case load of various disputed matters including employment disputes and tribunal claims. I also spent time running a variety of civil litigation matters including both small claims and multi track claims in the county court specifically dealing with breach of contract claims, money disputes, landlord and tenant disputes and non money claims. In addition, I as also responsible for providing support to the firm's About HR department, who solely advise local businesses on employment and HR related matters. This allowed me to make various connections with local businesses and provide ongoing advice.I was also primarily responsible for the corporate debt recovery matters which the firm deal with.

I spent over 2 years working as a Legal Assistant at the firm.Personal InjuryDuring the period from July 2012 until May 2013, I worked as a Legal Assistant in the Personal Injury department assisting and providing support on a variety of pre-lit and litigated claims in relation to industrial disease (including NIHL), accidents at work and road traffic accidents.Employment and LitigationDuring May 2013 until April 2014, I worked as a Legal Assistant in the Employment and Litigation Department running and managing a case load of various disputed matters including employment disputes and tribunal claims. North Shields, Tyne & Wear

Member of the First Response Unit for the firm, dealing with a variety of road traffic accident claims on behalf of the Claimants. My responsibilities included liaising with the Claimant to ascertain the specific details of the accident, before submitting the claim onto the claims portal for road traffic accidents (in accordance with the Pre Action Protocol).I would carry out the day to day case management of the claim, managing a case load of up to 100 files.

Member of the Fast Track Litigation team dealing with a variety of litigated road traffic accident claims on behalf of the defendant. We were acting on behalf of the national insurance firm, Aviva UK Plc.I ran a case load of between 60-80 files and dealt with the day to day case management of the files, including drafting all court documents, instructions to counsel, witness statements and dealing with quantum.
