Worked for a number of event companies installing the sites for music and arts festivals as part of a core team of site crew.Festivals have included:Southbound, Stereosonic, West Coast Blues and Roots, St. Jerome's Laneway, Groovin The Moo, Big Day Out, Soundwave, Perth Fringe Festival, Ord Valley Muster, An Evening on the Green.Tasks included: - operating forklifts- loading and unloading trucks- installing signage, fencing, toilets etc.- maintaining the site during festival operation- removal of the site afterwards. Skills-Setting up of festivals involves an enormous amount of teamwork. The site crew operates with a core team but must also liaise with other contractors including electrical, staging, fencing, plumbing etc. in order to achieve a successful site build.-Problem solving is also an important skill involved in a site build. Unforeseen challenges regularly occur in setting up an event which require an effective solution often requiring a number of considerations including patron safety.
