I have over 30 years of experience in various manufacturing environments. I have been involved in a variety of production environments, the manufacture of custom gaskets and seals, hydraulic power units and shot blast equipment. As Chief Operating Officer, I have implemented process improvements like Lean and 5S as well as introducing manufacturing equipment and technologies to increase efficiency and quality. I have 11 years of experience working in SAP as our ERP environment. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that come with manufacturing custom products. In my role I interact with all departments within our organization - sales, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and accounting. Understanding how these all must work together allows for a satisfied customer and a profitable sale.In my current role managing aftermarket products, I interface with customers on a regular basis. I am able listen and communicate information that brings a certain comfort level for the customer and increased value to our organization. I have developed new ways to go to market as well as promote and execute the sale of our aftermarket offerings.Outside of work I mentor a FIRST Robotics High School Team. The students need to design, build and document the process of creating a robot to accomplish the tasks that the game has put in front of them. The students then need to use what they have created to compete among other teams to test how well their solutions match up to those of the other competitors. Mentoring gives me an opportunity to share my experience and training to help guide them through decision making processes, building the robot and executing the game. This is also an outlet to help develop skills that will be helpful in the future.
