Following a period as International Sales Director, headed up the African design magazine, Ogojiii, during its launch period. As well as dealing with larger issues such as setting budgets, interacting with investors, ensuring the company met its corporate and legal requirements, this also included setting up such logistical basics as premises, computers, a website, subscription mailings and hiring staff. Crucially, however, it was a period of establishing partnerships and distribution in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Denmark and the UK.

Global advertising sales, magazine sales, subscriptions and marketing for an exciting new magazine that focuses on design, current affairs and lifestyle from an African and Nordic perspective. The South–North axis publication will appeal to decision-makers, entrepreneurs and the knowledge class across Africa and in global cities from Copenhagen to London to New York to São Paulo. The magazine will be published every 42 days, in line with Africa's Akan calendar.

Consulted on and produced all forms of branding and media for the Laureus World Sports Awards, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and the Laureus World Sports Academy. This included everything from the quarterly magazine to banners to all materials produced for the guests of prestigious Awards show and banquets held in Monaco (attended by the Prince Albert II of Monaco) and Barcelona (attended by the King Juan Carlos I of Spain) and Lisbon.

Analysed the wide range of publications (both print and digital) being produced by this large corporate organisation to assess which were meeting their communication needs, which were not, and which were overlapping in their approach. This meant streamlining what was produced, creating savings and more efficient communication internally and externally. Quality of the publications was improved editorially, while distribution to ensure publications reached the people who would benefit from the information and also at a time in their work cycle when research showed they were more likely to read the information. Great information is useless if it is not read and taken on board.

Conceptualised and launched a new book imprint in conjunction with Penguin Random House. Two Dogs is an imprint aimed specifically at male readers – it's tagline is 'Books Men Read – and one newspaper critic dubbed its development as "the emergence of Dick Lit". Developed the list using established writers, unearthing new gems and a sprinkling of celebrity names. Two Dogs often barks above its weight and went on the enjoy a number of best sellers including the satirical Some of My Best Friends are White by Ndumiso Ngcobo, the irreverent Is it Me Or is Everything Kak series and 50 People Who Stuffed Up South Africa, illustrated by Zapiro. The imprint is still going strong today.

Editorially revamped and repositioned the corporate magazine, Amicus, by applying high consumer standards to its content. Instilled in staff and management that a corporate magazine does not have to be second best when it comes to quality, and that better quality means more, and better engaged, readers, which in turn will result in the magazine reaching its communication aims successfully. Training was given to staff so these same standards could be maintained after the consulting period. The magazine went on to win magazine industry award for the next two years.

Successfully converted one of the SABC's top TV shows into a glossy print magazine, achieving a circulation of 40,000+. The project included everything from hiring staff, sourcing computers, software and other basics to establishing the editorial style, advertising roadshows and promoting the magazine by appearing on a weekly TV and radio slots.

Launched the classic men's title and took it through to an audited circulation of 40,000+ per month. This included working with GQ in New York and London to ensure the magazine kept its global feel yet reflected the country for which it was intended, building a top team (many of whom went on to become editors and publishers themselves) and attracting quality writers such as Elmore Leonard, Tony Parsons and Mark Gevisser to feature in the magazine.
