Daniel Fox is a Senior Digital Design Engineer at Infineon Technologies at Infineon Technologies. Colleagues describe him as "During Dan's time here at NXP, he was able to work very well with the team and contributed a great deal towards our progress, whilst also displaying a passion for learning and pushing himself to achieve. He grasped technical subjects well, whilst also displaying good soft skills.
I personally worked with him on tasks that utilised Cadence Virtuoso (my primary tool of working), and Dan adapted very well to using this very complex simulator. He ran simulations on numerous circuits, and performed some quite substantial modifications of existing circuitry - modifications which may be used on an active design if the need arises.
He is a very driven individual, and whilst also being good at listening to instructions and advice, he was pro-active and able to work with minimal supervision for long periods of time. He was very good at solving problems on his own, but was also not afraid to ask for help when needed.
I met with Dan every week to discuss progress (and issues, if applicable), and I found that he was easy to communicate with. He always prepared for the meetings by recording his work in a logbook, and was always eager to discuss his thoughts on how well his work was progressing.
Dan has made a very successful start at working in industry, and I have no doubt that when he returns (wherever that may be), he will have a good career ahead of him." and "Daniel prepared a script to submit Matlab jobs onto Unix queuing system.
The main area of technical expertise here was bash script generation but also a good understanding in Matlab.
He also showed an adaptability and inventiveness and an ability to use his initiative to solve software problems.
The outcome was that his script was able to process Matlab jobs with an improvement in elapsed time of 20x or more. The result was a script was well organised and suitable for future adaptation as required.
Throughout this time he showed a great deal of enthusiasm and drive to get the job done efficiently.
I would like to thank Dan for the work that he put in for this task.
