Since 2009, I have been focused on building a successful specialist environmental drilling Company, bringing a high quality drilling service to the Contaminated Land Management industry. This business venture has further built upon my project management skills and business acumen, as well as gaining hands-on skills and insight into the environmental drilling industry.Previously an environmental engineer with ten years consulting experience in the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, it followed to steer our Company in a similar direction. In 2013, however, we encompassed geotechnical drilling into our skill-set. This not only created a new business direction but, in crossing the two disciplines, has enabled further technical improvements to our drilling capabilities as well as cost saving benefits to our Clients.Roles and responsibilities, as Managing Director of Epoca Environmental Pty Ltd, include:• Collaborating and maintain Company management systems• Coordinating drilling programs for soil and groundwater contamination investigations for a variety of site settings, including: multiple TfNSW investigation programs; Department of Defence facilities; fuel retail / distribution outlets; former and operational landfill; former and operational mine sites• Overseeing Company financial expenditures and revenue, continually assessing cash-flow position• Training new employees in Company protocols, drilling methods and general site safetyKey achievements include:• Building and maintaining good client relations, with continued repeat business.• Ensuring a safe and incident-free work place for employees.• Successfully growing Company to a stable and healthy position.

Project Manager for medium to large remediation projects - Coordinate field personnel / contractors at each stage of site demolition and remediation works.- Oversee safety of all site personnel. - Liaise with clients, providing information relating to each stage of remediation projects.- Tracking project financial status and profit margins.

Assistant Project Manager for large projects and Project Manager for medium projects- Coordinate multiple field teams during contamination investigation works.- Compile, evaluate and report investigation data. - Delegate and over see reporting and assessment of data to high level review.- Prepare scope of work and cost estimates for remediation, where required. - Provide effective communication between project manager and project team.- Liaise with ‘high level’ client throughout projects.

Project Manager for small to medium projects - Research available background information for preparation of project scope and cost estimate.- Delegate separate phases of work throughout project.- Review draft reports in preparation for senior peer review.- Liaise and advise client as to future proposed work plan.

Field Engineer for contaminated land management- Prepare and conduct Phase I and II detailed site investigations.- Coordinate groundwater monitoring for ongoing remediation projects.- Execute soil remediation works for hydrocarbon and other chemical contamination issues.- Oversee fuel infrastructure removal works and subsequent chase out / validation / characterisation of resultant excavations.- Supervise sub-contractors during site works and ensure safe work procedures.Environmental consultant reporting above works and other relevant information including:- Historical land use, EPA records, council 149 (2) & (5) certificates, DIPNR records and WorkCover NSW DG License records;- Laboratory analysis results and comparison to relevant assessment criteria; and- Conclusions of the investigations and recommended remediation strategies and associated costs.
