Managed Weapons Discharge & Combat System sections; brought HMS Artful, a new Astute-class submarine and the first to operate the new common combat system, from a build environment to acceptance into service. • Successfully delivered project requirements for the first external countermeasure embarkation and firing on an Astute-class submarine, where others had failed • Senior capability advisor for the weapons group • Controlled and accounted for £20M of weapons stores • Introduced robust training system for 30 personnel across the department • Coached department safety representative and instigated ‘Life from Learning’ sessions which improved H&S requirements for access to an area of the submarine following an explosives incident
