About Daniel Fuhs, Cesswi

Dan Fuhs received his BS in Wildlife Management/Biology from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 2011. In 2009, Dan was a Wildlife Technician for Texas Tech/USGS conducting a spatial study of lesser prairie chickens using radio telemetry to gather information on specific individuals. Dan was a biological science technician with the University of Wisconsin – Madison/WDNR where he conducted grassland nest searches for blue-winged teal. He also estimated duck nest success in grasslands on public and private lands, particularly within Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) fields in southern Wisconsin. Mapping where nests were via ArcGIS software as a part of his job led to obtaining a GIS and Spatial Analysis minor from UW – Stevens Point. Several years later, he was a wildlife technician for the USFWS – Kulm Wetland Management District. At this position, Dan conducted vegetation samples (visual obstruction readings, Daubenmire readings, and litter depth). Most of his work revolved around avian surveys where he participated in 4 square mile bird counts, with shorebird, waterfowl, and songbird identification.
