Hi! I am new to the tech industry and wanting to take my life and work experiences into the world of information technology! I previously worked in the food industry and happily served customers for 3 years while at Panera Bread, Chick-Fil-A, and the Cheesecake Factory. I then made the transition into a monitor support tech role at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital (1.5 years+) and have worked alongside nurses, doctors, and other hospital techs. A monitor support technician interprets, and diagnoses conditions related to the heart. My secondary role at the hospital was a front desk support tech which involves a wide range of duties on the unit. I have had the pleasure of serving customers in the food industry and assisting patients, nurses, and doctors at the hospital but am now ready to tackle the world of technology. With my work experiences I have developed a strong problem-solving skill, an ability to resolve issues and find a solution, deescalate hostile situations, adapt to change, and happily interact with team members and other coworkers. A close friend of mine mentioned a career in tech which I immediately disregarded not knowing what it exactly entailed. He mentioned the CompTIA certifications, after a few days of doing my own research and trying to understand where I could start, I purchased a CompTIA A+ study book. A few months after, I am now A+ certified and currently working towards my CompTIA Network+ certification. I am looking for the opportunity to begin my career in IT and put my knowledge to the test.
