My main responsibilities within this role are as follows:• Plan and manage manufacturing process development activities within capital budgets, whilst providing solutions and processes that are robust, timely, and cost effective which meet with customer expectations.• To coordinate development activities to establish supporting data that ensures the manufacturing processes are based on a sound understanding of the materials which are being processed and the technology adopted for the plant and equipment. • To coordinate and manage a project data file capturing salient data including design and rationale, trials data, process definition including drawings and specifications, certification and safety data. This data is controlled through the company’s Product Lifecycle Management system.• Work with other engineering personnel and other functions to develop a network of capable suppliers to satisfy the business needs.• To develop robust manufacturing processes implementing industry standard controls to ensure long term process stability, including but not limited to the following: Lean principles, PCPs, PFMEAs, PLC monitoring with Built-In Test and Visual Management Systems.• Lead and support a number of activities including process reviews, capability studies, Safe System of Work, preparation and compilation of progress reports • Present to higher management and customer representatives (verbal and written) on topics relating to process status within development or production, e.g. KPIs• To assist in the preparation of new and revised company standards to support the design and procurement of new equipment.• To keep informed and abreast of general manufacturing technology and assist in the development of future technology plans to support the company’s mission statements.

Working for the Operations development team as a Manufacturing Engineer, my main roles and responsibilities are as follows:• Plan, design, and implement integrated manufacturing processes within existing and new projects.• Refine the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.• Work with Engineering to identify problems with product and performance; recommend solutions or enhancements.• Plan and design methods to improve efficiency in production; train line employees on new processes and methods.• Work to improve equipment availability and capability by utilizing continuous improvement tools and cross functional working.• Define manufacturing standard operating procedures and Safe Systems of work within the manufacturing process.• Support capital acquisition and capacity planning and change control.

During this role, my responsibility is to control and engage in the Automated Optical Inspection process at Axiom, including programming and debugging a vast quantity PCB's, of ranging complexity both in live and offline environments using a variety of software platforms (Omron / Cyberoptics.) and programming methodology . Provide support and actively develop several manufacturing processes ranging from surface mount technology, selective/ wave soldering, adhesive underfill and complex PCB repair (BGA, QFN, LGA, POP etc.) whilst ensuring maximum uptime, attention to detail and strict quality requirements are met. Proactively develop current operating procedures within the A.I. Dept. with a key emphasis on reduction of any potential lost cost or waste whilst atributing to the improvement of overall operating efficiency of the department.Wide range of experience with surface mount machines (FUJI), printing machines (DEK) and associated profiling of reflow ovens (BTU/ Data paq). Extremely proficient in the operation and interpretation of DAGE X-Ray systems inclusive of void, oblique views and sub-micron analysis. Experienced with the development, maintenance of current wave solder machines (Solsys and Blundell variants), selective soldering (ERSA) including associated wash and rework processes (IPC-610, JStd. etc.).

Ensure efficient running of machines within the test department, including SSOP Test machines through to the BGA,QFN/P and wafer processes. Filling out all relevant paperwork.
