I currently work for Gwent Police serving as a police constable in the Newport area of Wales. My role in this organisation brings me numerous daily challenges including conflict management, customer service with the public, complex problem solving and working in hazardous environments. This position also has a key emphasis on managing a high workload, often with varied deadlines for cases and a need for investigative skills necessary to achieve positive results.Throughout my life I have typically gravitated towards fast paced, customer orientated jobs, primarily as I enjoy engaging with the public, solving problems in short amounts of time and the variety of duties that customer focused roles typically bring. Before my time in the police service, I worked for Lidl GB at their Risca store. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the store as a sales assistant, where I was able to carry out a variety of duties such as the unloading of heavy shipping pallets to dealing with complaints by customers of the store. In the past, I have achieved bachelor and master degrees in the field of history at Swansea University, an area which I have held a lifelong interest. Through my four years of study, I learnt analytical skills through examination of historical documents and extrapolating arguments from how they have been written or presented.
