Regulatory Specialist
Responsible for maintaining and administration of Approval Certificates for ongoing aircraft maintenance relating to Aviation Regulations Part 21, 42, 145, 147, SMS for CASA and other external Regulators including Part 43, 145, ISO 9001-2015 & SMS for FAA, EASA, CAANZ, CAAC, MOLIT, CAAV, FJAR & FAA. This involved regular monitoring and updates to associated Policy & Procedure manuals, capability lists, developing, maintaining and approval of Maintenance Organisation Expositions for many regulatory certificates held by Qantas. Auditing, Investigations and administration of Safety Databases such as Aviation Quality Database (AQD) and Intelex to enter and track findings & actions for internal surveillance activities/investigations and for findings allocated from external regulatory authorities. Duties included being the point of contact for external regulators/auditors and provide relevant data, evidence, clarifications and deliberation/negotiation of perceived deficiencies with the auditor. Positions held within Qantas Engineering has allowed me to gain extensive experience and knowledge of the overall airline business, including: • Operating systems using eQ, Maintenix, AQD, Intelex, QE Intranet & other data sources• Auditing Qantas & external facilities to Part 145 Regulations and Quality System requirements. • Provide expert guidance in CASA, FAA, EASA, CAANZ, ISO QMS standards / other regulations• Planning and conducting meetings as the Project Leader /Lead Auditor / Assessor• Presenting reports and evidence in a concise and logical manner using Microsoft Office systems• Project Management processes and contract review• Designing, preparing and approving regulatory training packages using Power Point & Adobe.• Risk Management and Risk analyses to minimise or remove the Risk.• Investigations of various incidents using MEDA and TapRoot Incident Investigation Tools • Management goals, KPI’s and personnel evaluations.
