After graduating from the University of Alberta in 2010 I was fortunate to join Hurlyworks Inc. where I trained under the mentorship of the industry's leading controls consultant and gained valuable experience in building controls and electronic security system design. In 2015 I excitedly joined the team at KFR Engineering where I expanded my design repertoire, under equally elite tutelage, to execute various mechanical design projects spanning the building mechanical and control systems industries in the institutional and commercial sectors. My background in building controls has provided the foundation for continued involvement in high-quality, complex and unique technical projects and has been supplemented by design experience in all phases of project evolution from plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, specialty laboratory and my continued involvement in controls designs. I was thrilled to join CIMA+ in 2019 as the KFR group was invited to become a leading part of the growing Western Canadian buildings engineering practice. The nation-wide network of experts available at CIMA+ and the support of and collaboration with colleagues possessing vast and differing backgrounds has been an exciting developmental opportunity that has contributed to my growing skillset as an engineer and manager.I am proud to have been part of the design team that was awarded the 2019 CEA Award of Excellence for the NAIT Productivity and Innovation Centre and recent involvement in collaborative construction projects has made me a strong proponent for IPD.
