As a qualified navigation evaluator and detail plotter, I aided the ship’s navigation into 13 different ports, including 4 domestic and 9 international ports. As an assistant leading petty officer (assistant manager), I was in charge of a group of 12 sailors. I assured that we maintained the cleanliness and the integrity of our equipment and spaces onboard as well as random tasks or major preparations. I was the watch bill coordinator, planning schedules for navigation watch standers. I was the USS Carl Vinson Navigation Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) Coordinator. I gave educational tours of vital navigation spaces onboard, navigation training lectures, and was one of the panel members for the ESWS qualification oral board.
