After serving for four years in the Office of the Solicitor General of Texas, Dan joined Gibson Dunn's Appellate and Constitutional Law practice group, focusing on all aspects of high-stakes appellate litigation.

As an Assistant Solicitor General, Dan conducted and supervised appellate litigation for the State of Texas. In addition to handling his own docket, his experience in the office included advising other divisions on appellate and trial strategy, revising countless briefs in cases across all subject areas, and extensively preparing other attorneys (in moot.

Before his government tenure, Dan practiced with a top appellate team in MTO's Los Angeles office. During that time, he received the State Bar of California’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services, and was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Pro Bono Panel.
