Hi there! I've been in the broadcasting field since college. I got my start as a student worker at the University Television Center at Mississippi State University. While at MSU I worked as a Master Control Operator for the campus TV station (MSTV7) as well as a studio camera operator for every coach's show, educational programming as well as student productions. MSU's TV Center was a wonderful opportunity! As well as getting hands-on experience I also got the chance to work with Jefferson-Pilot Sports, FoxSports, ESPN and CBS Sports. During football season they were nice enough to let me operate a camera on the "Jumbotron" crew at Scott Field/Davis Wade Stadium. I was also tasked with shooting high angle highlights for the MSU's men's and women's basketball teams which replayed on TV or were used as highlights on the coach's shows.I spent a short time with a state agency shooting their in house videos as well as learning Avid. I picked up on some Adobe Photoshop skills as well as some still photography.It took me some time to get some traction in the industry after that. I did some work mostly as freelance until I was hired as a Master Control Operator at WAPT in Jackson, MS. Like at MSU, this was a great opportunity that got me in the door and allowed me a chance to move to the news department where I would work on my skills as a Photographer and an Editor. I joined the newsroom during their transition to Avid Newscutter. I assisted everyone who asked for my help with Avid.After two years in the news department I moved on to WGNO(ABC26) in New Orleans. I was hired to chase breaking news for Good Morning New Orleans but my job eventually became feature stories and morning show live shots. It was a great chance to grow creatively and I even had two franchises I was responsible for.After four years in New Orleans I moved back home to Jackson, MS following the passing of my brother. In September of 2014 I joined WJTV as a photojournalist. After several years of shooting news, sports and weather I moved over to evening show editor. In May of 2022 I was named the Chief Editor.
