The primary job responsibilities of this post were the installations/support of Wintel Server Operating Systems and Client Server applications hosted by such servers, installations/support of Wintel Desktop/laptop estate and hosted applications, Internet / Intranet / E-mail and Branch Automation Technology (mainly ATMs). Within this role I was also in charge of implementation and/or support of planned projects and any approved out-of-plan initiatives falling under the above-mentioned categories. During this period I was involved in most of the major infrastructure and other IT Projects, and also in the drawing up of a number of Feasibility Studies, Business Cases and other Position Papers for Senior Management approval.

The principal accountabilities of this role included on-going Operations, Maintenance and Technical Support, covering all the IT Systems and Technical Infrastructure and implementation of new services and infrastructure within set deadlines as required. Was responsible for a team of 5 resources working on a 12 hours shift roster, and apart from being a reference point to the team had to ensure all members where given the best possible level of training to be able to provide 99% uptime of all systems. The role also involved on-going research to be able to recommend best Operations practices, and pro-actively initiate or propose ways to enhance performance, stability, availability and service for the benefit of our customers.

I was responsible for all Voice Technology related issues including maintenance and installations of any related equipment. This incorporated liaison with related contractors and/or suppliers (both local and foreign) for fault reporting, maintenance, new installations and any other matters. During this period I was Project Manager for a large voice project, and an active participant on other project teams.

Main responsibilities included the maintenance and support of the Bank’s network and communications system, support branch refurbishments and provision of secondary line of support for the ATMs and file-servers. Involved in a number of upgrades and interfacing projects, and also appointed IT Project Manager for a number of office refurbishments/relocations and department merges
