Backend engineering role involving feature development on the product’s Django monolith codebase, reporting to a squad tech lead. Longer term projects would have involved splitting up this codebase into more easily maintainable microservices as the business scales up. This role was made redundant soon after starting due to a change in leadership and company wide layoffs.

Flexible startup backend engineering role, reporting to a senior ML engineer. This role involved backend software development, infrastructure development, devops and testing, while coordinating with remote team members across multiple timezones. This role centred around the development of key backend services for a lease contract management SaaS product.Key achievements:- Designed and implemented a scalable machine learning inference service for sequence labelling and text classification tasks. The solution was built using FastAPI, and was designed with the flexibility to support models from multiple base libraries including Tensorflow and Pytorch, as well as the ability to wrap API calls to external ML products. This solution was built following cloud best practices including automated CI/CD with AWS CDK, and a message queuing architecture utilising SQS and Lambda to ensure high durability.- Designed and implemented a serverless pipeline for concurrently running multiple ML tasks on contract documents. AWS Lambda Step Functions and AWS CDK were used to architect and deploy the application.- Successfully managed API integration between lease abstraction product and an ERP system (Lucernex) for a major multinational client. This allowed customers of Lucernex to directly export data generated from FLNT’s product to Lucernex.- Won Star Employee award for consistently delivering high quality work.
