- Title: Evaluation of the longitudinal chromatic aberration in ophthalmic lenses and of the MTF in different spectral ranges- Description: In my internship research I analysed the chromatic aberration and the modulation transfer function of 17 lenses with different surface treatments and refractive indexes. I have developed a tool that would meet my needs, I established an appropriate target and analysed and classified the ophthalmic lenses in different groups. With three different filters I observed the different spectral ranges. I established a measurement procedure that was as repeatable as possible for the acquisition and analysis of the 30,000 photographs collected. I then performed statistical analysis to get significant results- Results: the lenses classified in the same group, as expected, gave less variable data. It has been found a statistical relationship between the Abbe number of a lens and the longitudinal distance between the maximum contrasts in the different spectral ranges- I decided to develop this thesis because in recent years studies have shown that the modulation is related to spatial frequency. I then wanted to investigate this issue in a concrete manner measuring the longitudinal chromatic aberration
