Building on an academic and professional background in law, with a love of strategy and risk management, I have enjoyed a rewarding career in security and risk management. By combining these disciplines, I had the privilege of leading Code 9 Security in creating highly effective security strategies that pose a formidable opponent to those who threaten our clients, their businesses, and their autonomy. My colleagues and I developed intricate but proven ways to deter, detect, intercept, and prosecute offenders. We brought together the very best talent, technology, and processes that work seamlessly with our clients, their organisations, and a range of other stakeholders. Together, we built a world-class security business that is trusted by global brands, businesses, and governments alike. We united a diverse team of security professionals behind a clear mission, Protecting What Matters™, and challenged thinking on values – being one of the first security companies to adopt B Corp principles and the SDGs. Code 9 Security has now grown to include a group of complementary businesses in healthcare, fire safety and business resilience. Developing this wider skill set has allowed us to deliver increasingly effective and added-value services that truly align with our clients’ needs and wants. In December 2023, I concluded my tenure as CEO of Code 9 Security. This afforded me the freedom to focus on the parts of the business that I really love, better apply my passion and skills, and focus on new opportunities and challenges. This change allowed me the space and time to work with other ambitious, driven and purpose-led entrepreneurs and business leaders who continue to bring new, exciting challenges, opportunities and ideas. More generally, I love navigating complex problems and finding creative solutions to challenges. I get great satisfaction from helping clients create strategic plans to own, manage, and exploit risk in their organisation and working with them to deliver on those plans. Lifelong learning is important. This is why I invest in and nurture close working relationships with leading universities, think tanks and industry trade bodies. I look forward to developing those relationships further as I start work towards a doctorate. Outside of work, I have two canine companions who demand much attention. I also play the piano, explore the outdoors, and sail—activities that afford me the space and freedom to think, recharge, and fuel my creativity.
