About Daniel Govan

Hands on Designer and Fabricator with professional Mechanical Design experience in various Agricultural Product(s) processing, Commercial mobile Fire suppression system and Public Art Installations.Proficient in SolidWorks, PDM, MasterCAM, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, AutoCAD, and experience with Revit. Open to and able to adapt to new softwares as the task demands.I have a very eclectic and diverse background which has roots in designing, tinkering, creating and building both experiences and physical objects for human interaction.I first completed my degree in Event Management from CSU Chico while simultaneously helping create and found a new Maker Space facility called the Idea Fabrication Labs. It was here that I was exposed and fell in love with utilizing CAD and operating CNC and Laser Cutting machines, in conjunction with a variety of other tools, techniques and mixed media artworks. My focus as a designer, artist and builder is the utilization of computer aided software for creative and functional projects which utilize Laser Cutting/Engraving, CNC Machinery, 3D printing and more. This experience has led to projects including logo design, jewelry design, wall pieces, stage design/fabrication, home furniture design/fabrication and marketing assistance for various start up companies.I am also a seasoned and active traveler. I love exploring "new" territories to experience new sounds, flavors and sights. In the beginning of 2016, my fiancée and I departed for an around the world adventure which took us through 32 different countries across a 3 year span.On the side I love to bake and travel to concerts and music festivals!
