Rotation 2 of 3 - Meritain Health is an industry leader in the Third Party Administration (TPA) and Stop Loss Insurance industry. As part of the New Business Underwriting team, I work with a group of talented individuals to deliver customized, cost-effective and convenient solutions for our nationwide book of clients. I currently focus on underwriting administrative service contracts and stop loss insurance offerings bundled with customized features and health improvement programs all aiming to reduce the total cost of care for our members. Stop Loss Marketing is conducted following experience rating and group review to a variety of nationwide Stop Loss Partners. Recruiting Committee: Engaged in corporate recruitment activities with an emphasis on college campuses in South Carolina and Georgia. Working with Middle Market Team in Southeast Region as a Select and Key Account Underwriter in the Georgia and Louisiana markets. Quotes Fully Insured, Level Funded, and Self Insured offerings in collaboration with regional sales team based out of Atlanta and New Orleans. Created efficiency related workflow documents used by new hires on my team in order to better aide their understanding of our underwriting workflow. Supported the Intern Training team for Summer 2023. Updated and presented training sessions pertaining to Microsoft Excel and our use of the program on a daily basis in Commercial Underwriting. Courses included live exercises within the application as well as take home exercises for pupils to engage with in order to confirm their new Excel knowledge.

Middle Market Commercial Health Insurance Underwriting - Tasked with completing underwriting assessments for middle market select and key accounts in the Georgia and Louisiana markets. Reviewed relevant information for each submission and created quotes for release using internal programs and actuarial tools. Collaborated with Sales staff and staff underwriters to create competitive quotes for release to brokers and clients alike.

Through CVS Caremark, this client has a moderately sized commercial line of business and are a first time Medicare Part D operator for 2021. I had the pleasure of working with the SIHO team to implement this new Med D line of business throughout the fall of 2020 all the way through implementation in January 2021.Kelsey-Seybold is a new client to the CVS Caremark PBM for 2021, having moved their 5 Star KelseyCare Advantage plan over for the 2021 year. I joined the account management team with KelseyCare in late February of 2021 and am working with their team to meet their daily needs for both members and the health plan itself.
