About Daniel Gowans
With nearly fifteen year's worth of experience composing, studying, and performing music, I've had the opportunity to explore many different facets of the joys that music can bring. Several wonderful musicians and I have collaborated over the years, performing in various venues across the country, including New York City's Carnegie Hall (Fall, 2023). My primary emphasis is music composition. I have studied composition with Brandon Schuler (2016-2018), Dr. Pitagoras Gonçalves, DMA (2020-2022), Peter Aldins (2023-current), and Dr. Mathew Arrellín, PhD (2024). I am currently studying percussion with Mr. Nick Kozar at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL, and music composition with Mr. Peter Aldins at the Longy School of Music in Boston, MA.A list of notable premieres and performances of original works along with competitions that I've participated in can be seen at danielgowanscomposer.my.canva.site/ .
