I am an autistic PhD researcher, looking at the experience of autistic secondary school students in UK mainstream schools. I make use of Bourdieu's social theory and the Double Empathy Problem to examine the way in which access and possession of capital alters autistic access and social belonging.As an autistic person, drawing attention and campaigning for neurodivergent and disability equity and inclusion is a driving factor in everything I work towards ~ "Nothing about us, without us".I currently work in a secondary school establishment, working with SEND students and delivering an alternative curriculum provision for maths and science to Key Stage 4 pupils.
