In this position I was responsible for the day to day running of the warehouse, logistics and Manufacturing side of the company. Ensuring all orders were sent out on time and in full. I was responsible for managing inventory, full time and temp labour, Quality Control and Health and Safety. I worked closely with customers both local and international. In a short space of time I have been very much involved in the growth of the company, which included moving to a larger warehouse.
Production Manager
My role was to co-ordinate work to a manufacturing team consisting of 35 people. The orders were received from a demand plan and I had to plan in the production times so feedback could be given to the customer. When I started this position in December I highlighted a need for an MRP system and a Master Production Schedule to give customers a concrete delivery date. In this role I noticed a lot of things wrong with the business that needed changing so I voiced my concerns alongside an action plan for improvement. In essence, the message was that the business was inefficient and drastically needed improving. I implemented the 5s system throughout the warehouse and controlled stock counts and FIFO. I was responsible for recruiting temp labour as and when needed to fulfil orders while still achieving unit cost. Reporting Daily and weekly KPI’s to Operations Manager. This position also involved safely training new employees to use heavy duty machinery (such as CNC machines, Morso’s, Cassese angled machines and air compressed pinners) I also trained them to use compressed air, and general warehouse duties including Health and safety through out the warehouse.

Working with heavy duty machinery, CNC machines, Cassese angled, Milling and Pinning machines.
