In 2018 I completed my 3 years of Theatre Studies in Dublin, obtaining a HND Level 6, and ventured into the teaching world via Pickles Theatre Company.I taught Drama in schools across France and Belgium with a Theatre in Education company, going on a 6 month tour and performing in over 200 shows, wherein students got the opportunity to perform as well. We ran Theatre workshops which promoted the use of the English language. This alternative approach to language learning was an incredible experience and has been massively important in my own approach to teaching as well.For the last 3 years I have been working in schools in the UK, with students who have special needs.Initially as a teaching assistant, whilst I was completing my teaching qualifications online. During this time I have taught English as a foreign language online, and in summer camps in Italy and Los Angeles. l have also taught in Cambodia and Thailand. After gaining my teaching qualifications I was able to then move on from an assistant to a teacher. Most recently I was working as a 1:1 tutor for looked after children in the Middlesbrough area, and also in a special needs school, River Tees Multi Trust Academy. In 2020 l gained a 180 hour advanced TEFL certificate from the Manchester school of languages, and also a 30 hour Business English certificate from TEFL Ireland. I am also just about to complete my PGCE, level 6 in Teaching and Learning.
