· Responsibility for the Management Accounting function. Providing reporting and decision support to Senior Management, Partners and Commercial Directors.· Direct management of 3 managers leading the billing, cashier and purchase ledger teams (approx. 30 heads) so as to effectively train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, monitor their (and their teams) activities and recruit as appropriate. Evaluate resource capability as business requirements, processes and systems develop.· Establish measurable service and quality standards for processing teams. Manage performance and development of ops teams performance overall.· Review and develop the knowledge and reference documentation to support process and procedures of the operations teams. Review current processes and develop a plan to support a programme of rolling review and continuous improvement.· Overall management of disbursements and internal expenses covering operational, financial control and regulatory issues.· Provide support and input to cross firm projects which involve practice management finance processes. · Maintain the finance business continuity plan.· Member of the team managing the annual audit.· Worked with other finance colleagues in developing our international system and accounting capability.· Supported the development of our business intelligence capability.· Promote practices and procedures which ensure that we adopted a risk based approach in review, monitoring and development.

• Production of monthly management accounts for distribution to partners.• Production of budgeting and forecasting for legal teams, working with the FD and Commercial Directors.• Responsible for running and collating the firm wide budget.• Setting of cash collection and fees targets to manage working capital.• Working closely with partners and business development teams on pricing and scoping of tenders.• Presenting at training conferences for newly qualified, associate and director level lawyers.• Costing of external secondment opportunities.• Project management of Cognos project – from initial scoping through to implementation.• Member of the Catalist Executive team – a cross firm team of partner, lawyer and non lawyer employees with responsibility for advising on the financials and pricing for public sector clients.• Working with the financial reporting team, credit control manager and external auditors on annual audit preparation, including valuation of work in progress, bad debt provision, credit note provision, professional indemnity provision.
