Seven years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a Bachelor in Arts in International Relations from the San Francisco University and a Master in Arts in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation, from the Andina Simon Bolivar University both in Quito, Ecuador. While working as Project Coordinator, focused in international politics and regional integration, security, democracy and youth participation in Ecuador for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), I've destined my efforts to improve civil society’s capacities in institution building and foster democratic dialogue. Previously, I cooperated with a non-profit organization as the liaison between sponsors and rural children in Ecuador, focused on improving their quality of life. I was also part of the Carter Center in Ecuador, which at the time served as a platform to improve Ecuadorian-Colombian relations upon the withdrawal of ambassadors due to effects of the Colombian internal conflict. Through these experiences, I've developed strong project design and coordination skills, as well as civil society-government dialogue tools. My main focus is on the topics of security and conflict resolution, drug policy reform and comparative regionalism studies, and a strong passion for democratic dialogue. My current research aim is devoted to drug policy reform at a local and international level, through a health and human right's approach, based on harm reduction and drug market regulation.
