At Salient I have been a part of the development of a variety of products for consumers as well as government funded research and development. One of the more notable government projects was aimed at developing a sea drone for autonomous deep sea operations.

At Anasphere I developed several aerial weather sensing platforms for autonomous flight as well as working on weather sensor designs. One of my more notable achievements was the design and construction of a 36 foot, closed loop low speed icing wind tunnel. Projects were funded by both NASA and DOE.

Composite Materials Research and DevelopmentWhile working at gradient engineering I was assisting in the development of new bio-based composite materials. This was an SBIR funded short term project aimed at developing the fundamental processes needed for extracting and integrating bamboo bio-fibers into composite materials. Some of my contributions to the project were as follows:• Conducted material testing for bio-fiber materials and composites• Researched fiber/matrix coupling treatments for bio-fibers• Manufactured thermoplastic test coupons for material characterization • Developing novel processing equipment for bio-fiber extraction

Worked with Dr. Doug Cairns in wind energy related composites. primary focus was with the manufacturing of composites and process modeling.* Acquired the skills necessary to manufacture composite materials while part of the composites group at MSU.* Developed new data base techniques used for cataloging composite manufacturing.* Participated in fabricating two full sized wind turbine blades used as part of a composite flaw study for the wind turbine blade industry. * Advanced the methods of composite manufacturing through process modeling while completing thesis work. As the design director at Birch Creek I was responsible for reviewing incoming project drawings, creating shop drawings, organizing shop manufacturing, and running crews at the shop and on site for the construction of heavy timber framed homes. A significant amount of time was also spent working directly with clients and general managers on design, materials, or other details related to the project.Timber Framing Experience* Excelled as a heavy timber frame carpenter for more than eight years.* Led multiple crews and jobs in a shop environment as well as on site construction. * Used CAD modeling software for architectural design and shop drawings.* Mentored other employees at various levels of ability in completing complex work related tasks.* Interfaced with internal employees as well as costumers, material suppliers, and general contractors.

Missoula, Montana Area

During my time as an undergraduate in physics at the U of M I worked along side Dr. John Bells in high energy physics. My responsibilities initially were to help in the design of an experimental apparatus to study nitrogen fluorescence. After working on the design I also manufactured the device and later helped in conducting experimentation at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in Palo Alto CA. Later I also assisted in developing simulations of the experiment using for-tan coding.* Published in Astroparticle Physics Journal: Flash Thick Target Project* Involved with nitrogen fluorescence research team and experimentation at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.* Designed and fabricated experimental testing equipment.* Utilized a computer design program (CAD), to design experimental equipment, as well as architectural design.* Construct detector simulations within Fortran.* Presented to the physics department faculty and students, on nitrogen fluorescence experimentation. * Delivered a short presentation to personnel and other users at The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center on the status of the nitrogen fluorescence experiment. * Taught physics students as a lab TA during fall 2003.
