Dan Gustafik has been designing cultivation and processing facilities for over 20 years. With a background in electrical engineering Dan started in 1998 by designing one of the first licensed medical cultivation facilities under Prop 215. He then went on to found a design build company focused on the cannabis sector in 2003. In 2007 Dan launched a second company focusing on design build of synergistic mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in the cannabis sector. In 2011 Dan designed and operated a cannabis R&D facility. After performing the preliminary cannabis system design for the groundbreaking Tilray facility, Dan founded Hybrid Tech LLC in 2014. Since its launch Hybrid Tech has completed over 190 cannabis and hemp projects with over 3 million square feet of systems.Before the launch of Hybrid Tech Dan had the privilege of working on some of the largest high tech manufacturing systems in the world at Intel. In 2011 Intel was expanding its main campus to include the most advanced wafer fabrication plant in the world, the D1X project. Dan worked on implementing the full campus emergency generator complex (EGEN-1) building. He then joined the D1X internal tool implementation team, working on the wafer fabrication tooling systems for chip manufacturing. Intel was one of the best experiences showcasing high BIM level implementation using Revit and a process lead design method that helped form some of the basis for the Hybrid Tech method of design. Dan has a background in electrical engineering and holds numerous licenses in many states, including licenses equivalent to a licensed professional engineer for over 10 years. Dan has also been awarded multiple patents on novel design methods and systems. He has held a master electrician license and mechanical certification as the qualifier for Hybrid Techs electrical and mechanical contracting license in numerous states. He now leads the Hybrid Tech design team on implementation of cannabis systems.
