This included: • Questioning the critical assumptions• Assessing the beneficiaries i.e., local residents versus overseas and private investors• Evaluating the main financial risks in light of the high levels of borrowing, potential interest rate changes, changing population projections, impact of Covid etc. • Reviewing the appropriateness or otherwise of the intended housing mix, height and density, ownership versus rental, together with the levels and types of affordability • Appraising the proportion of parks, open spaces and recreational land, together with public transport accessibility; and• Examining the employment strategy, including the number, type and level of jobs createdThe resulting report made 14 evidenced-based recommendations. -

Implemented an innovative budget formula on a points-based system that enabled the team to maximise finite resources and achieve optimum impact. Revamped the long-standing clunky handbook. The replacement was lighter, more accessible and considerably cheaper to produce. In the post-conference satisfaction survey, 74% rated the Conference as either excellent or fantastic. 85% loved the new handbook, which also received a 90% satisfaction rate for ease of navigation. -
