As part of a school wide modernization plan, spearheaded the largest curriculum change in the most challenging subject taught at nuclear power school. Instruct a class of up to 35 junior naval officers at a time throughout a rigorous and demanding 13 week graduate level course in electrical engineering. Officer of the deck-As the submarine Commanding Officer's direct operational representative, expertly maneuvered the ship throughout dangerous and nationally recognized missions using a team of 12 operators and sensor analysts. Received full trust and confidence of the Commanding Officer, a 16 year submarine operator, as well as high remarks from senior officers of the Pacific Fleet.Shift supervisor of engineering spaces-Responsible for safe reactor operation, steam plant operation, and electrical distribution system operation. Led a team of 9 operators through complex engineering evolutions including propulsion transients, shifts of electrical distribution system lineups, and disaster recovery. Authorized maintenance on engine room components during plant operation ensuring safety of technicians and safe concurrent plant and ship operation. Damage Control Assistant (2013-2014). Led a division of 15 personnel and owned equipment vital to the operation and control of a multi billion dollar submarine. Ensured proper compliance with US Navy requirements leading to high marks on multiple inspections by various auditing teams.Peacetime Safety Officer (2013-2014). Developed accountability and safety program for the shooting of exercise torpedoes, ensuring compliance with national requirements. Led to 100% accountability of torpedoes throughout 2 large scale exercises, enhancing the tactical ability of all involved.Antiterrorism Officer (2013-2014). Developed the antiterrorism plan for the submarine, a national asset, ensuring the security of all personnel and information on board.
