Daniel Hailu is a social protection and social inclusion specialist. The consulting assignments he successfully undertook include assessments, situational analysis, gender analysis, expenditure reviews, development of knowledge management systems and tools, development of policy, strategy, national action plans and programs on social protection and social inclusion issues. His clients include UNICEF, the World Bank, USAID, ILO, UN Women, FCDO and IOM. By the side, he has been undertaking independent research focusing on process evaluation of social protection/ inclusion systems and interventions in Ethiopia on which he published an ethnographic book and articles at international peer reviewed journals. Prior to his consulting and research career, he had served nonprofit organizations in Ethiopia for over a decade in progressive leadership positions, which involved designing, monitoring, coordinating and managing and evaluation of programs and projects in the areas of community health, non-formal education, HIV/AIDS, gender and development, women and youth empowerment. Daniel is an ILO certified Master Trainer of TRANSFORM, which he has applied in trainings he facilitated in Tanzania, Malawi, Uganda and Somalia.
