The Auto Care Government Affairs Committee works with association staff to develop and implement the Auto Care Association’s legislative and regulatory policies that are aimed at both protecting and enhancing the business of the vehicle auto care market in the United States and abroad.

My primary responsibilities at Hanson Distributing Company was to direct and manage the operations & sales of its subsidiary HMC Auto Parts Stores. In this position I was responsible overseeing more than 100 in-branch employees and an outside sales force of 10. Additionally, I was responsible for setting and maintaining the stores' price matrices; inside and outside sales staff training and new product introduction; scheduling of customer focused technical training events in partnership with vendor partners; onsite and offside trade shows and customer events with typically 100-200 attendees, but some events drew 400-800 people; HMC branded marketing and wearables design and production; and store product category management and brand strategy. Prior roles within the HMC division included:-Sales Manager-Branch Manager (Allied Auto Supply, Pasadena)-Territory Salesman (San Gabriel Valley)-Auto Parts CountermanI also served on the Hanson Distributing Company Board of Directors.

Representing, safeguarding, and advocating for the interests of traditional distributionThe Aftermarket Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) was founded in 1947 and is the oldest organized group of warehouse distributors and their respective suppliers of parts, accessories and other supplies for the motor vehicle aftermarket. AWDA’s 600+ members represent thousands of locations.AWDA represents the interests of traditional distribution within the Auto Care Association. Through networking, leadership opportunities and cross-channel communication, AWDA members provide policy advice and input to the Auto Care Association and the aftermarket industry at-large.
