Here I have joined the group of Prof. Gideon Schreiber and focus my research in studying a group of molecules called Interferons, which are currently used in a number of clinical applications today (Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Hepatitis therapy). My research has an emphasis in developing/taking novel leads cultivated in academia and testing them in a pre-clinical research environment. This early stage start-up company was engaged in development of novel inhibitors to the EGFR/ErbB signaling system - this a known drug target in cancer, and has already lead to the development of drugs used in the clinic today, including Erbitux, Tykerb and Herceptin.
