As a Cyber Security Engineer at Merit Energy Company, I manage and monitor security systems for over 1000 systems daily, using tools such as EDR, app control, SIEM, proxy servers, and more. I collaborate with other IT and business teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated into system design and implementation, and I deploy several cloud cyber analysis platforms for the company (both IaaS and SaaS).I also analyze and investigate security incidents to determine the root cause and identify necessary remediation actions, staying up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques through research and training, as well as ISAC calls weekly. I have a BSE degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa, and I hold the Security+ and A+ certifications from CompTIA. I am highly skilled in blue team operations and able to wear multiple hats, balancing incident response and system architecture.
