I have had the pleasure of working with the Apex team on and off in various roles since 2007 in advisory roles, including acting as a representative for vendors and customers and most recently as a direct service provider as a compliance contractor. In this role, I was able to direct the focus of the management team to specific, targeted goals for compliance objectives in the areas of food safety, quality and occupational health and safety. I was also given the role of providing my internal customers with tailor-made, custom-built programs to help them meet company needs and objectives for all aspects of the business. Directing key staff in the management of food safety, quality and additional compliance programs for the company. Responsible for providing actionable inputs to Operations, Finance, HR and Sales in order to meet corporate objectives. Part-time role is focused specifically on the North American market for meeting global, federal and provincial standards in various compliance objectives. Reporting to the General Manager, my focus at Emperor Specialty Foods was to liaise with other senior management team members, and staff throughout the organization to ensure supply chain and operational services are delivered at the highest level. Focus on deliverable, credible and consistent product and information from Canada, USA, China, the EU and South America. I assessed/analyzed processes at the time to identify bottlenecks and areas of potential risk or compromised service delivery. Began the role as a full-time customs compliance manager with cross-over in food safety and other related business regulatory environment assists including a hands on role in Langley as the Safety Lead. Majority of time spent on customs compliance between US and Canada as well as supporting corporate functions in quality and food safety as company needs indicated. Assisted the new corporate teams in absorbing the key functions of the position as the role was discontinued by August 2013 and overall, the transition was considered very successful. This involved creating audit ready tools for the teams to utilize to support the company in government and customer lead compliance audits.

Began as the Quality Assurance Manager 2005 and took over the food safety program development, working with the local and corporate teams to achieve HACCP certification in 2006. Focus of the role expanded to include more stringent quality controls and embedded food safety procedures within the overall operations program working alongside the rest of the management team. Took on regulatory affairs related programs as regulatory environment changed in US and Canada regarding food labeling and some additional focus on customs import/export. In 2008-2009 I had the pleasure of working in the capacity of R&D for Cellar Craft division until permanent replacement for the role was found. 2009-2011 had dual roles in QA and Regulatory Affairs which looked after QA, Food Safety, Customs Compliance and was a member of the OH&S Team until factory shutdown in 2011.

Primarily focused on training and audit assists for short term contracts, and long term contracts as the "HACCP Coordinator" or Food Safety Consultant and program writer. Worked extensively with GJG & Associates in that time period, including Maple Leaf Foods subsidiary Land Mark Feeds, Thrifty Foods, Otter Co-Op and many others. Developed more than 100 certified plans in a 3-year period.
