In today’s rapidly evolving job market, the ability to adapt and pivot one’s career is increasingly important. My personal journey reflects this landscape, as I transitioned from a career in chemistry to the dynamic field of information technology. Between 2016 and 2019, I undertook training as a chemical technician, a role that provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in a rigorous scientific environment. My education not only honed my technical skills but also sharpened my analytical and problem-solving capabilities. I relished the challenges of working in a laboratory, where precision and attention to detail were paramount. This period equipped me with a solid foundation of knowledge in chemical processes and safety protocols, which complemented my passion for science.After gaining a year of professional experience in this field, I found myself increasingly drawn to the world of technology and its potential to shape our future. This desire for change led me to reevaluate my career path. In 2021, I embarked on a new educational journey, enrolling in a vocational program to become an application developer. Over the course of my training, which is set to conclude in 2024, I have immersed myself in various programming languages, software development methodologies, and project management principles.Currently, I am working in the field of Identity and Access Management (IAM). Here, I leverage the knowledge and skills developed during both my chemical training and my IT education to tackle complex problems related to security and user access control. IAM is a critical area in the digital landscape, ensuring that the right individuals have the appropriate access to technology resources while safeguarding sensitive information against unauthorized access.As I reflect on my journey from a chemical technician to an application developer, I am reminded of the importance of continual learning and self-discovery in professional growth. Each experience, whether in the lab or in front of a computer screen, has contributed to my competencies and has provided me with unique insights into different fields. This cross-pollination of skills between scientific inquiry and technological innovation is not only enriching but also indispensable in today’s multidisciplinary workplace.
