He recently joined the new Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN), in Greensboro NC, where he serves as professor and Nanoscience Department Chair. His twenty-seven years of experience in the semiconductor industry focused on catalyzing the new era of convergent technologies and nanomanufacturing. Current research interests include sustainable hydroponic composites, nanoenergy, bioelectronics, as well as the design and demonstration of useful self-assembled and biomimetic systems. Dan is an avid wood worker, fly fisherman, gardener, and family guy. He also composes classical country dances.
