My current role requires regularly interacting with and periodically visiting domestic and international suppliers to identify nonconforming material, complete root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve supplier quality and reliability. This includes: Performing systems audits of suppliers to verify conformance to International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 standard. Performing process audits based on type of product supplied and production systems and equipment utilized. Managing quality aspects of supplier changes including acceptability review of change requests and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) supporting documentation, coordination of validation sample evaluations, and control of internal inventory to prevent obsolete material. Organizing sorting activities for defective products to reduce spoilage and time lost to machine alarms and material rejections. Additional responsibilities recently assumed include supporting production lines and quality for a major automotive manufacturing customer by: Providing judgements of acceptability for abnormal conditions. Investigating root causes and implementing countermeasures for unacceptable conditions. Managing various production line quality documents and records. Writing customer root cause and countermeasure reports. Obtaining data and documentation requested as part of customer change request approvals. Database development: Self-taught Microsoft Access and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to complete assigned projects supporting various business needs with a focus on maintaining data integrity while improving ease of use. Have launched several databases, including one to meet an IATF audit requirement.
