Performing as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, has been a source of pride - knowing that my profession acts as an important and valuable resource to the health care field - contributing information to health care providers that informs the proper diagnosis of patients.I have a high appreciation for safety and quality, and held an important role to insure that the products produced for the public, by my workplace, were 100% safe to use for their health and well being.I have been involved in several process and quality projects related to product improvement which ultimately enhanced safety for the general public.In addition to having my MLT, I'm skilled at managing laboratory staff in blood production and distribution labs.List of my core competencies:- performing document review for completeness and quality- involvement with new innovations and implementing them for example, PIT (pathogen inactivation treatment for platelets), LrWBC (Leuko-reduced whole blood)- SOP and COP change management- being an on-the-job trainer for new and existing lab staff- participating in recall of possible harmful products to health care facilities- maintaining current skills and knowledge, including a personal competency portfolio for the CMLTO- providing technical advice to laboratory staffTechnical SkillsCurrent certifications: MLT (CMLTO)Computer programs: Microsoft word, excel, laboratory P1 systems
