Preparing, designing, and teaching weekly after-school programs for Lawrence Gateway to Nature Programming in partnership with the Community Group. Coordinating and teaching impactive seasonal family programs in the Greater Lawrence Community. Represent Mass Audubon at multiple festivals in Lawrence; notable events include the Bread & Roses Festival and Summerfest. Established a campaign to partner with the Greater Lawrence Community Boat House to deliver family programming and summer enrichment. Supervising and mentoring Community Education fellow in collaboration with the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Assisted our Regional Director and Grants Officer to secure a three year $60,000 grant to support the North Shore Region’s Gateway to Nature Program serving our Lawrence youth and communities. Continually working to maintain and deepen relationships with The Community Group and external partners in Lawrence. Supporting and teaching education programs including school, homeschool, vacation camp, summer camp, and special engagement events at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary.

Provide visitors to Acadia National Park with informal interpretation, park information, and Leave No Trace education at highly visited trailheads and mountain summits. Steward park owned land by brushing-in undesignated trails, painting new trail markers, building and maintaining Bates Cairns, pruning, installing and repairing signs, and other small-scale trail projects as needed. Design and coordinate citizen science data collection on Cadillac Mountain. In addition, my duties include mountain road traffic and implement road closures at West lot while communicating with park staff. Assist with Search and Rescue (SAR) operations at Acadia National Park.

Directing ZooCamp Summer Camp Program which includes recruiting and hiring summer staff, designing Zoology curriculum, planning schedules, and managing camp budgets. In addition to camp planning, assisted with applying for two grants (SummerFund and DCU for kids), successfully secured $15,000 for the 2021 ZooCamp Scholarship program and general operating costs. In order to ensure COVID-19 health and safety, coordinate with Boston Board of Health, Fire Department, and Inspectional Services to ensure ZooCamp meets state standards. Other duties include; assisting education team with virtual and in-person animal encounters, leading tours, creating and distributing ZooCamp newsletters, training volunteers, and working closely with Teen Ambassadors.

Represent Willies Superbrew at Liquor/Grocery store tastings and local events by providing sample product to customers. Successfully trained six Superbrew candidates in Liquor/Grocery store settings by providing constructive criticism and feedback. Support relationships with retail accounts by maintaining product displays and educating store owners on product updates. Serves as main point of contact for various large-scale tasting events; approximately three per month.

Developed and taught environmental education lesson plans to home-school and after-school groups of students aged six through twelve; assisted teachers and administration with the Enrichment Programs at private and public schools by teaching educational courses on various topics including soils, animal life cycles, and water conservation; directed the week-long Summer Mountain Bike Camp which taught students about safety and proper techniques needed for mountain biking; managed the six-week Summer Nature Camp Program which included the opportunity to oversee four camp counselors and provide positive feedback and constructive criticism based on performance; was responsible for creating and distributing monthly program e-newsletter, updating social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram), and creating marketing materials for upcoming programs and events; established relationships with several Land Trusts including the Andover Village Improvement Society and the Manchester Essex Conservation Trust.

Worked with a team of AmeriCorps Members to support the conservation initiatives in the Lakes Region in New Hampshire. Improved and engineered approximately 95 miles of trails on protected land; acted as outreach liaison for Lakes Region Conservation Trust (LRCT) owned islands by providing natural history lessons to island visitors; led guided excursions on LRCT properties for members of the public; monitored conservation easements; and managed/recruited volunteers for trail work and invasive species removal workdays.

Responsible for creating, editing, updating, and teaching natural resource curriculum to children ages 6-8. Other duties included taking children off site to various parks, administering first aid when needed, and marketing the Mass Audubon brand to interested families.

Responsible for identifying resources and summarizing best practices for winter roadway maintenance in the Barnes Aquifer Region. Drafted a report for various municipalities in the Pioneer Valley highlighting the most cost effective solutions for winter roadway maintenance.

Worked with the PVPC Community Development Team to conduct a series of windshield surveys and income surveys for ongoing projects. Assisted with data collection and data analysis when needed.

Responsible for teaching natural history to children in Grade 8 in Chatham/Wellfleet and surrounding areas on Cape Cod. Worked directly with campers during off-site field trips which consisted of hikes, snorkeling & kayaking trips, as well as other natural history excursions.
