I am a principal mechanical design engineer with many years experience working within a medical R&D and in an aerospace/defence environment.I have experience in designing for manufacture and assembly by designing injection molded, sheet metal, machined, additive manufacture and rapid prototyped parts amongst many other things. Designing everything from test jigs & equipment, robotic handling systems, microfluidics to extremely highly loaded welded structures has enabled me to gain valuable experience designing for mechanical projects.I am an advanced Solidworks user with experience with versions 2008-2022. I have set up a globally unique Solidworks Composer system as well as implementing Toolbox and maintaining the Solidworks systems. Fusion 360 and Onshape are alternative systems I also work with, particularly Fusion 360 as it has additional features including CAM functionality.Alongside mechanical design, I have a good understanding of hardware design & wiring as well as systems level testing of designs.I own my own 3 axis CNC vertical mill, manual lathe and 3d printer and access to a good number of very reliable suppliers.
