I work for Dr. Isaac Torres-Diaz, researching anisotropic magnetic nanoparticles.-- Summer 2020: I used MATLAB to simulate the potential energy of Janus superellipsoids both near and far from a surface, and I studied cap weight effect on equilibrium particle position.-- Summer 2021: As part of the Honors Capstone Research program, I modeled dipole-dipole interactions and simulated the Brownian motion of magnetic ellipsoids in an external field.-- Current Work: I study hydrodynamic and dipolar interactions of magnetic ellipsoids, and I run simulations based on the results. I recently developed a novel method for efficiently calculating the minimum separation distance between two randomly oriented ellipsoids.

I lead hour-long one-on-one tutoring sessions with fellow student at the university. The courses I tutor include calculus A, B, and C; differential equations; general chemistry 1 and 2; organic chemistry 1 and 2; physics 1 and 2; and introductory chemical engineering courses.

Worked with Dr. Volker Blum for 10 weeks as part of NSF REU program at Duke University:- Simulated electronic structure of graphene / perovskite heterostructures using hybrid density functional theory (DFT) on the Perlmutter supercomputer.- Developed novel method for analyzing induced strain on solid materials, useful for selecting supercells and predicting how the lattice mismatch strain will affect the reliability for the computational results.- Published results with experimental collaborators at the National Renewal Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS): https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.2c12441
