Why do I write? Though my creative process often incorporates sci-fi conjecture and fantastical elements into comprehensive bodies of work, I strive to avoid confining myself to flat genres and groupings. I seek not only to embody but also to drastically rework my personal greats, drawing from their grand scale, ethical turmoil, and mercurial virtuosity in forms both literal and conversely, oft-controversially, metaphorical. DEZUN, my first published novel, was born from a similar eclectic storm, a veritable multi-media maelstrom: a desire to portray the grandiose beauty of our planet’s offerings, a personal research paper on Mars colonization, and an urge to voice the themes of alienation and societal martyrdom rife in melting-pot culture. In a certain sense, it is emblematic of my own experiences both as a writer and a consumer of the written word.Having completed my first project, I'm now looking to tackle a work on a grander scale, currently drafting a fantastic work that weaves nascent vulnerability with Faustian, esoteric power, estimated to clock in at approximately 250k words. As part of its creation and unique creative brand, I'm putting together a comprehensive, fully-functional constructed language, one that builds off of and betters conventions and groundwork laid in the first pages of DEZUN.
