My role here involves building blown fibre optic networks and direct burial networks on behalf of Gigaclear, preparation and splicing of blown fibre cabinets (CDC's), preparation and splicing of direct burial FDN joints in chambers, building access cabinets and OTDR testing. Also this role involves having a good overall knowledge of the networks and ability to solve any problems that may occur.

Part of a team building fibre optic networks for villages in and around the Berkshire area, my role involves the preparation and splicing of fibre optic enclosures, having an overall good knowledge of the networks, OTDR testing and fault finding/problem solving.

Managing a team of network build engineers building an ultra fast fibre optic network in the West Berkshire area on behalf of Gigaclear, liaising with civil contractors on site to discuss various network progression and available works.

Originally taken on as a trainee, eventually learning how to build fibre optic networks and read schedules accurately to complete the task at hand, completion of Hellermann Tyton joints, also involved learning how to test competently to assess whether there where any faults on the line and also amend faults.

My role here as a Service Delivery Engineer involved working as part of a two man team installing fibre optic broadband to the home, liasing with the customer at their home and walking through the installation process and pricing the installation costs, on agreement by the customer start working from the connection point to the customers home and activating the service, we also tested the connection and speed ensuring the customer is satisfied with service before we leave
