Profile bio

About Daniel Hunter

With professional history in both the military and civilian sector, I am able to translate my years of varied experience into dynamic project management and compassionate leadership.I started my professional career as a freelance musician, performing with some of the top orchestral and quintet groups in the country. This experience taught me many things, first and foremost how to work at a very high level under intense pressure. In the freelance world you're only as good as your last performance, and if I was to continue to work I had to not only perform my music perfectly, I had to quickly adapt to being a new member of an established group. I had to blend, listen, follow the group director, communicate effectively, and become a harmonious colleague in an instant. All of these skills have carried over to every part of my professional life, helping me to be a leader in each role I perform. My experience as a military musician allowed me to add several skills to my portfolio, helping me discover my passion for helping and leading others. As a musician in the Navy you not only perform music, but you are required to have varied collateral duties. Whether I was leading a Brass Quintet overseas doing diplomatic musical missions, or guiding fellow sailors as a Career Counselor and Command Pay and Personnel Administrator, I was able to manage any project given to me with ease. Fellow colleagues consistently looked to me as a leader, someone who could effectively communicate the objectives of the mission in a clear, kind, and professional manner. Regardless of the project I led or assisted, I ensured the mission was completed with efficiency, accuracy, and that my team felt supported and seen. My experiences in the both the civilian and military sector have shaped me into a dynamic leader. I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, and hard working person. I am a mature and inclusive team member, adapting to all challenges as they arise. I excel in both in a team environment as well as individual work. I am able to excel under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines. I am empathetic, kind, and an excellent communicator able to quickly establish trust with fellow colleagues. I am looking forward to becoming a cornerstone of a team of professionals that value hard work, inclusion, empathy, and driving results.
