Reporting to Senior Management within the banks Commercial function, I work closely with the Commercial Leadership Team to develop the Commercial Risk profile for the bank. I lead the analysis of the external environment, internal change agenda, business performance and issues/events to identify signals that may impact upon the risk profile. My main accountabilities are:-- to embed the Commercial Risk profile and continuous review approach- develop, lead and review the Commercial Controls Assurance Plan- collaborate with assurance teams across the group for further assurance on bank wide commercial risk controls - support the corporate conduct agenda and ensuring conduct risk is understood and appropriately mitigated

Within the function of c. 1600 colleagues, I led a team of Risk Specialists and Analysts responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of effective risk Identification and assessment processes, focusing specifically on risks posed to the business through regulatory and transformational change. Additionally, I had responsibility for:-- providing support and guidance to the Group Operations Leadership Team on Risk Management priorities- Translating regulatory publications into summaries for the Senior Leadership Team- Supporting management and their teams with the firms Risk and Controls Self Assessment process- leading the firms transformation of data management processes for ongoing compliance with Depositor Protection Regulation- Supporting the firms GDPR programme in readiness for the new regulatory regime - supporting the design and implementation of a new Data Privacy Services capability for the bank

My core responsibilities included:-- management of the firms compliance with Depositor Protection Regulation (Financial Services Compensation Scheme)- implementing and then developing the Group Operations Business Continuity and Incident Management capability representing Senior Management in the firms Incident and Crisis Response team (silver level)- developing the functions Risk Governance framework and overseeing all Risk related reporting for the Group Operations Director- improving the Group Operations Risk Management capability and developing the internal control environment - co-ordinating Scenario Analyses in support of the firms ICAAP obligations - representing Senior Management across a number of committees including Information Management, Security Governance and Business Continuity

My team were influential in:-- developing the role of Communications Specialists and integrating this skill set into the change portfolio - designing and overseeing the introduction of logical access controls across the function- integrating the corporate Risk and Controls Self Assessment process into the Operation ensuring all controls were proportionate, effective and routinely tested- preparing commentary on Executive Committee and Board papers on behalf of the Group Operations Director- producing training and awareness materials to support the embedding of key policies- ensuring regulated mortgage documentation requirements were adequately represented in the Mortgage Change portfolio- establishing the design of processes to support a consolidated view of customer remediation issues across the mortgage portfolio
