Through oversight on over three construction projects, I successfully prevented project delays by reducing project spans by up to a month. Also, my roles required me to estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor, crucial for assessing project feasibility and ensuring cost-effectiveness, thereby increasing revenue by 2%. My proficiency in civil engineering standards is also demonstrated in my ability to utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Protostructure, and Orion. During my internship at Precon Design Limited in Lagos State, Nigeria, from March 2019 to August 2019, I had the invaluable opportunity to immerse myself in the intricate world of structural design engineering. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, I contributed actively to various projects, focusing on the meticulous design of structural elements for buildings and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as BS 8110 and other relevant codes.One of the highlights of my internship was the hands-on experience of inspecting and redesigning a deteriorating structure in Ebutte-Meta. By combining my knowledge of structural dynamics and engineering principles, I was able to propose and implement a more comprehensive foundation and structural framework, significantly improving the structure's stability and functionality.Utilizing advanced software tools like AutoCAD, I generated 3D models, conducted detailed structural analysis, and produced comprehensive technical drawings. This process not only refined my skills in structural modeling and design but also equipped me with the ability to translate conceptual designs into precise, executable plans that met project specifications and regulatory requirements.This internship provided me with a solid foundation in structural engineering practices, reinforcing my passion for innovative design solutions and commitment to ensuring structural integrity and safety in construction projects.
